A-918 active Al2O3 sulfur recovery catalyst is a synthetic active Al2O3 catalyst, which possesses higher resistance to sulfation poisoning, higher hydrolysis effect to organic compounds and better heat stability. The commercial test result has proved that A-918 has the advantages of high activity and crushing strength, which can be used for 3 years continuously. Compared to the bauxite, the total recovery yield can be increased from 80 85% to 94 96% at equal or similar process conditions. The hydrolysis of COS reaches 100% and the content in tail gas is decreased down to below 1%. All the properties of A-918, with its specific surface area up to 320m2/g, have reached the world advanced level, and it has been applied in more than 30 domestic units. A-918 has achieved SINOPEC 3rd Prize of Science and Technology Progress. It can replace the imported catalysts and can be used in the imported units.
